Happy Sunday, everyone!
I hope you've enjoyed a fantastic week!
Last week, I decided to be fully transparent in my newsletter. It's an uneasy feeling to publish thoughts that are typically reserved for your family and close friends.
While it is reassuring to know I have a fantastic support network (thank you), I want to reiterate a point I now realize I failed to emphasize in my prior post.
I'm fine. I will be fine.
I felt compelled to share my thoughts last week because it's ok to admit when we are struggling. In fact, it's ok to struggle. It's perfectly normal and part of life!
If you haven't cracked open the annual review resource I shared last week, I urge you to go back and give it a chance. Whether you're hitting green lights, as McConaughey would say, or you're at a standstill trying to figure out where to go next; the review process is helpful.
Which brings me to this week's topic of discussion... Open.
What is Open?
Great question! Open is a unique tab found within personal websites which is used to display progress toward goals and track initiatives in addition to any number of other fun resources. Rather than belabor my explanation, I'll share a visual:

This example is specific to the author, but the concept is the same - establishing goals and tracking your progress toward those goals openly on a website! Since discovering this concept one week ago, I've been obsessed with building something similar on my website.
My open page will be formatted differently, showcasing projects in my personal and professional life. I'll share mock-up sketches as the process evolves - still very early days at this point.
Initial ideas for data tracking include:
- Books Read (with rating and link to review)
- Courses / Learning Completed
- Active Projects
- Miles Run by Month (bar chart)
- Days meditated
- Max Lifts (trended line chart)
- Photo Moments (i.e. thoughtful IG)
These will evolve, but each output will relate back to my personal goals for the given year. I've outlined several 2022 initiatives below. This list is by no means exhaustive, but fairly covers many key points of emphasis for 2022.
