I hope you have enjoyed a fantastic week.
I've been traveling this week to spend time with friends in Austin and Dallas, Texas. Keeping with the theme of my last trip to Texas, the majority of my time has been spent in good company, which does not include my laptop. So, I apologize once again, but this week's curation will be an abbreviated issue.
If you missed last week's curation, I shared a story from my Texas travels about conversations with Uber drivers. This weekend included two new trips to add to the all-time Uber conversation list.
- Jose, a retired veteran of 28 years with the NYPD. We chatted about his past stories (wild) and he wasn't shy expressing his opinion about the current state of affairs with police officers. Jose's son is one of only a handful of secret service officers and has worked with the past four Presidents - also pretty wild.
- Yuniel, an unassuming immigrant from Cuba with a beautiful family and a love for island travel. He told me about all the best local spots in Cuba before sharing some relationship advice. Our entire conversation was in Spanish, Yuniel is still learning English. Apparently, something stuck around from High School classes after all these years.
Also, not an Uber story, but on my one-hour flight from Austin to Dallas, I had a fun chat with my row. An elderly man from Holland visiting his son who lives in the States and a senior American Airlines Pilot catching a ride home after work.
Well, that's enough about me. Please enjoy this week's abbreviated curation.
💭 Quote On My Mind
Often I marvel at how men love themselves more than others while at the same time caring more about what others think of them than what they think of themselves.

Which do you focus on - your self-regard or others' opinion of you?
